I just purchased a Copperband Butterfly.
1)What will they eat? I have been told they can be kind of hard to feed. What do you have luck with?
2)As far as being reef safe, I know that they are hit or miss. What types of Corals are they likely to eat in my tank. In other words, what should I be keeping an eye on? In my tank, I have:
1)Flame Polyps
2)Fiji Polyps
3)Hammer
4)Candy Coral
5)Yellow Fiji Leather
6)Cats Eye Bubble Coral
7)Favia
8)Golden Polyps
9)Frogspawn
10)Leather Toadstool
11)Xenia
Thanks in advance

Copperbands like to cruise the rocks for live worms ect. Hope you have lots of wellestablished LR and a refugium. Hardly eat any thing other than live food or maybe frozen mysid. Feed it live brine shrimp till you can get it to eat mysid shrimp. May get lucky and yours may eat other foods but rare. They are pretty much reef safe but will eat small feather dusters and pick at larger ones but mine has never bothered any corals or inverts like cleaner shrimps or snails.

My personal observations are that they won't bother any of those corals. What they nail most are tubeworms or featherdusters. If you have any, they will be in for it, even the big hawaiian ones. They love pods and such, and a refugium is usually really good. You sometimes can get them to eat mysis shrimp. Mine did readily.

Well,
I dont have a refugium or pods. My tank is about 5 months old now, however the rock is pretty well established. Worms? I havent seen any worms in there. I tried to feed the whole tank Frozen Brine today but the Coral Beauty and Copperband didnt eat them. I am not even sure where to get live mysis or brine.
I think my fish store only has frozen? Can I feed them frozen or dried worms or shrimp?
