Coral Banded Shrimp...

I believe i am going to get the "Market Leader" reef package from this site and it comes with a CBS...and i was just wondering if they were a "cleaner" shrimp....like the kind that cleans the fish and junk!:notsure:

No, they are more of a predator shrimp although they are also good scavengers.

I believe that they are a type of cleaner shrimp?

It happens very rarely, but they can clean your fish. The problem is they are really agressive towards any other shrimp in the tank.

i have had one before i just cant remember much about it...they wont harm/eat other inverts will they like other snails, crabs, shrimp, starfish, etc will they?? in the market leader package it comes with 5 peppermint shrimp

Mine cleans things all right. He kills anyone that gets close to him. I would build your own pack instead of ordering a pre built pack.

I wouldn't worry too much about it in the short run, I just got that package and I got one decent sized peppermint shrimp and the rest looked like ghost shrimp. I am pretty sure they got eaten by my one of my fish when I put them in there.
One of my large cleaner shrimp that I already had was chasing my new CB around all over the place (I think he was going to eat him) and eventually ran it into my bubble coral which then commenced to eatinng the CB shrimp.
If you have an established tank, with larger shrimp and fish in it I personally wouldn;t get the package if you reallly want the shrimp b.c there is a good chance they will be killed.
I just wanted the crabs (hermit, emerald) and the snails, so priced individually, I got the shrimp for free.

My CB was in the habit of searching down my cleaner shrimp when they were molting and eating them. Lost 3 cleaners before I got the CB out and havent lost one since.
