If it is docile and not attempting to attack your fish is the way that I judge. I spot feed mine every other day when I feed my corals.

spot feed using a turkey baster? Brine or mysis shrimp?
Homemade food and mysis with a turkey baster is fine. My CBS will actually grab on to my turkey baster and let me shoot food directly into its mouth.

mine eats mysis, cyclops, anything i put in there really..he loves baby brine shrimp. one time i put a tiny tube thing with hundreds of BBS in the tank for the seahorses to snack on, and he sat at the opening of the tube and just ate every shrimp that came out of the tube. my horses didn't like him after that..

I used to spot feed mine but, after a year i got lazy and let him fend for himself. He is doing good bigger than ever, i dont know what he is eating but he finds something. They are susposed to hunt bristleworms and he hangs out under the rosk that seems to have the most but i never saw him eat one. I feed my tank everyother day one cube of brine shrimp so im sure he finds some of that.
