Coral beauty a picky eater?

I've kept one for a couple years now that basically eats anything offered. It prefers a regular supply of algae based foods...Seaweed Selects & Formulas 1&2...mixed with algae based flakes from OSI and Ocean Nutrition. It'll also munch meaty foods like mysis/brine/marine cusine etc.
Honestly mine has never suffered from a lack of appitite!!!
They do like a stable system with a good healthy source of stuff to pick at from the LR...mine is constantly picking and munching whatever it can find...but it has never damaged any coral...not that I've noticied anyway.

Hey,
I've had mine for about 18months now and it eats everything and anything. Like NMreef, I feed mine Seaweed selects, formula 1, brine plus, as well as flake (Spectrum Thera & Wardley spirulina plus). It chows all of that plus cruises the tank looking for snacks.
Thinking back, it took a couple days to get it to eat. That kinda bothered me, but it's doing great now.
HTH,
Dan'l

Yeah, go to the Petland near Kroger. They should have some of those Seaweed Selects. That is really good stuff. My flame even nips at it some. But, I am surprised he isn't eating the brine or mysis you have. You know, I noticed that he is still very skittish and everything in the tank. Given that your tank is in a "high traffic, high activity area" he just might be skeered. He'll probably eat in a little while like the goby!

Not only do they like algae, they need it in my opinion.....best thing is they LOVE micro algae such as hair algae.....atleast in my experience anyway. Never even bothered with the common macro algaes present for my foxface to eat. Mine also lovves brine....haven't found many fish that don't love brine....not the healthiest stuff though, so definately make algae type foods available...

cool cool...... Thanx a lot yall! HT- Yeah I was thinking about that. He is still getting use to everybody walking by avery few minutes. He's eating crap all over the tank, just not what I throw in. We'll see what happens. He's acting completely normal though, I think he's just shy.
