I know they are grazers, but how mature should the tank/rock be before I get one?
I have had my rock about 6 months and I got it from a local reefer so I'm thinking it should be ok right?
you dont really need to wait for your live rock to accumulate algae just put in some sea weed on a clip or wedge it in between some rock but they also eat flake and mine ate a little bit of krill 2 but your rock should be ok right now any way
hey kydizzle I took some pics. I'm uploading them to photo bucket right now and I'll post them when its finished... They aren't very good though just to warn you lol

Thanks.. This fish would not stop swimming in between my rock work so it was pretty hard to get pictures.
I'm pretty excited about the valentini, it will be at least another week or 2 though

Black and white heniochus butterfly (already have)
Coral Beauty Angel (already have)
Valentini puffer
Dwarf Zebra Lionfish
and after that I'm not sure. I might go with a snowflake eel but I'm still debating what my last fish or 2 will be.

I'd make sure you feed some reef mix that has algae and maybe sponge in it. Angels need some plants in their diet.
For now I'm feeding pellet and mysis and tomorrow when my lfs is open I will get something more suited for an angel. Thanks for your suggestion.

Mine won't eat from the clip. It does eat mysis, flake, pellet, and everything else I throw in.
The one I had was the same way. Eating from the clip isn't a sure thing.
Mine wasn't getting enough green, and I was starting to get concerned my tank couldn't support it, so I gave it away.

make sure you get that pigmy angel food i recommended for your butterflies for this girl.. she will def need a special diet
Especially if the tank is under one year old. They are grazers, but do adapt to aquarium life rather quickly. Feed her a good diet, and you should have her for a long time. Mine is over 5 yrs old.
