coral beauty back in QT!

posted before about the cloudy eye, use hypo and all was well, after weeks of hypo and so on I finally added back to main tank.
This fish is a trouper, but has problems and is driving me nuts. Its back in QT, AGAIN!
Once in main tank, a few days later I noticed a white spot, not like ich, but like a HUGE pimple coming to a head. Well over the last 2 weeks it is a huge mark---it is about in size. It is white in color, almost like tiny Q-tips (just the cotton part) sticking out of the spot. Now seems to be getting the same thing around its nostril! What is going on, are coral beauties prone to everything? Anyways, gonna do hypo in the QT, but what antibiotic was it that was mentioned before? I know the name, but has left me at this point and time, starts with an M and there is a regular (or 1) and a 2 after it.
My questions are:
anyone had this before?
what is the difference btwn gram negative/positive antibiotics, meaning how do you know which one to use?

Not to be a pain in the ars, but I know (at least I think) one is for gram negative and the other for gram positive, how do ya know which one to use? I will get the M2 cause I trust you all, but the question is still there. And have you ever seen this?
Is the Maracyn Two something you can buy in the LFS? Thanks Beth

SAD DAY, after 6 months, I woke up to find the dreaded. The CB is no longer here and I tried SO hard, it was my first Real SW fish. I feel aweful!!! and depressed, I never thought this would happen! It made it through SO much, but I guess enough is enough, the CB was exhausted. SAD DAY IN WV.
