Coral Beauty Problem

Has anyone ever heard of a coral beauty losing color in it's face? When I bought it a few months ago it was full of color. Now it's losing color only in it's face. All of my other fish are doing fine. Do I need to do anything?

Could be a nutritional problem. Any way to post a pic of what you're seeing? What have you been feeding and what are your parameters? Does the color seem to be fading to a whitish hue? You may also try adding supplements to the food such as selcon and zoecon.
Navy huh?
Here's my oldest son last year at his NRTC graduation in Great Lakes.

May God bless your son. Your fathers generation can never be thanked enough. It's a shame people are forgetting the sacrifice those men made for America. I won't forget!

I will get some pics up soon. It's been hard to take a picture without it being so blurry. You must be pretty proud of your son! I have been in the navy for seven years now and love it. Can't wait to get back on the ship again. Little tired of recruiting duty right now.

I'll try to take a better picture soon. Can't get him to stay still long enough. His face used to be bright and full of color. None of my other fish are having this problem?

kinda looks like HLLE but not sure... what type of food are you feeding him?are you feeding him pygmy angel foods? if not i suggest getting some ASAP they do require types of sponge in their diet ..only angel foods include it .. be sure to get pygmy angel formula...i would send these pics to beth in the disease treatment forum as well

I'd agree that it's HLLE. Also, make sure the fish is getting an adequate amount of greens in it's diet. Nori should be offered a few times a week. Soak it (and all foods) in supplements like selcon or zoecon (available at most good lfs). Angels are grazers and constantly picking diatoms and algal film of rocks and glass. Thet get a good deal of their nourishment from algae so make sure you're offering it. The flake food and mysys are "okay" but it really needs a much broader diet. Try things like Emerald Entree, Marine Cuisine, New Life Spectrum pellets, even some minced clam every so often. I think with a better diet you should see a gradual improvement. I purchased an Eibli angel before with a small touch of what your seeing and it recovered nicely within a month or so.

ocean nutrition makes the pygmy angel food same company as formula one and formula 2 its a frozen pack swf.com used to carry it but it looks like they no longer do.. i would also add the selcon as well you may not be able to reverse the signs of Hlle but you can hopefully stop it from further advancing..
