im working on keeping the same shark.......... if im thinking the standard 100 gal is 72x18x18 and if the shark maxes out at 24 icnhes...........kinda have issues with it not being able to turn around easier...... others will chime in with info but i would say atleast a 180 or larger IMHO

right now i have a 90 tall. the coral cat is only 10 inches long so i figure i can house it in the 90 for a little while until i upgrade to something bigger like 180 as you mentioned. i was told the shark would be ok with other fish and shrimp..think thats true?

I would reccomend before u get the shark to pick up a book called Aquarium Sharks And Rays by Scott W. Michael. It has alot of informative information and tells you pretty much the husbandry of sharks and rays. you will be able to keep the coral cats with fish but im pretty sure the inverts are a no........im still reading so sorry i dont have much advice to offer you.........but the best advice is to read......read some more..........and read more before you buy. Sharks and rays are a whole different territory. A little more complicated require a little more attetion than you average fish and are difficult to get eating sometimes.
This is Just my opinion some will have others.
And i would personally try to get larger than 180 it is a minimal size tank which means its possible but not comfortable......

Sharks need and tank with a large foot print............mean length and width are a lot more important than height.......

I currently have the book........excellent is all i can say alot of info. just get it before u get the shark it will kinda give u an input why people stress larger systems for sharks.
i had the idea i was putting one in a 100 gal only what i didnt know before i read the book........im thinking 2 of them in a 3-400 gallon is my route is the way im going
