I have 2 coral catfish, they are getting quite big. Nobody seems to know much about them. Are they reef safe? I dont think so,lost a banded shrimp in 8 hrs. They keep moving all the sand around and eat like pigs. I would like to have a reef tank, anyone want a couple of cats? The smaller one has bloted up like it was pregnant, then, after a couple weeks, one morning, its back to normal. No eggs, babys, or anything different in tank! This happened twice. Any ideas?

Yeah, they get huge and ugly but are cute as juveniles and will school when young also. Not reef safe at all, kinda like most catfish and will eat anything, they may kill each other if you continue keeping them together also. They can get about a foot and pretty big around, they are digging in the sand to find food.

I can't say they are ugly - just annoying & costing us a lot of $ right now. Any ideas on the bloating/looking like its pregnant & then a few weeks later its back to normal and no eggs etc..... How do you get pics onto the site?

As mentioned, definitely not reef safe because they will eat whatever fish or invert can fit in their mouths. They also produce huge amounts of waste, just as a typical catfish does.
