So ive been feeding my sun coral a decent amount lately every nite! Is this okay...can i over feed a coral? How often would u suggest i feed my sun coral, brains, and duncans?
I know i can under feed em because before my sun coral wouldnt even open but after some work with it, its open almost everyday specially when its dinner time!
Any tips, thoughts, or comments are welcome...even questions lol !
p.s. ive got acans too that i feed every now and again, id say every other time i feed i try and get some to them!

I don't think it will hurt your suncorals to be fed everyday but it isn't going to be good on your water quality long term. My first suncorals weren't healthy and I fed everyday to get them to open consistently. Then I cut it back to every other day for a few weeks. I've had them over 1 1/2 yrs now and feed them about every 3 (sometimes 4 days), they look beautiful and are usually open a few hours a day. I do however feed them heavily on those days and keep them covered over night to keep the other critters out. Brains I only feed a small amount every 1-2 weeks. Some people never spot feed their brains. IDK about the duncans, no experience with them.

My duncans are pretty good at catching food on their own. They do seem to be happier when I spot feed them once or twice a week, but it's not absolutely needed. Mine have gone months without being spot fed.

Personally it all depends on the corals health. Are the tenticles long and thick or are they short? You have to keep in mind that every coral has a different digestive needs and periods. Gotta pic of the critter? Heres mine. You see how the tenticles our coming
out on the black sun corals? They are ready to catch their grub. The orange ones came out shortly after. I feed mine once a week because their healthy. I turn off the lights. waite an hour and then turn off all filtration and pumps and feed chopped mysis, rotifers and cyclops. Cyclops and rotifers are for the Dragon Faced Pipe fish too.
Post a pick when you get a chance.
