Coral Feeding

I've started a 12g nano tank 3 weeks ago w/15lbs LR and have added a few items, Frog Spawn, Button Polyps, Purple Mushrooms and Bubble Corral w/2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp. I put a tiny amount of some flake food in about every 3rd or 4th day for the shrimp, what should I be feeding the corals?

Hi, I have mushrooms and a ricordia. I hand feed mine frozen brineshrimp. I started this a while ago and now they seem to know when the stick is coming into the tank. I shut off my filter and use a thin piece of dowling, the brine sticks on there and right into the water and into the center of the mushroom and ricordea does not want to let go of the stick. But one thing I did was to over feed my mushroom. It took on the look of a melted mushroom. I thought I killed it, but no it is just fine. So won't do that again. This is the beauty of a small tank and if you are into hand feeding it is fun. I just love watching them eat.
Cannot comment on plankton have never used it. But his is a great board with tons of good info from everyone.
Enjoy :cheer:

Thanks for the tips. I just bought a Green Open Brain Coral yesterday. The LFS said not to worry too much yet about feeding. My 125 gal tank is almost ready to go. I've been adding LR over the past couple of weeks, some from SWF.com which, by the way was very nice. I have some purple & light blue corraline algae growing on it and just added 35lbs more from the LFS. Did a 20% H2O change and NO3 is at 20ppm. I'm going to do a 50% next week which should get me in the ball park to start adding some livestock. I can hardly wait, this past 2 weeks has been horrible. All I have is one Hermit and 2 Turbo Snails, pretty boring. I guess this is what the mean by patience.:jumping:
