Purple up may do more harm than good or may not even be necessary if you dont test your calcium level to begin with. Also, with out knowing your calc level dosing can be very dangerous. And in order for corals to utilize calcium effectively you also need to know what your magnesium levels are. I dont know what phycopure is, but depending on the types of coral you have most will benifit from trace elements in your water. But alternatly you can feed zoe plankton, cyclops and even mysis depending on the coral. I have feed my hammer and frogspawn mysis, and even bits of shrimp.

I have a frogspawn, torch, trumpet, hammer, brain, LT plate coral, plate coral, mushrooms, a couple of acorapora frags and I feed them a cocktail of thawed out cyclops, frozen reef cubes, and DT's a couple of times a week. Anything uneaten, the hermits and crabs get.
