I read people doing this all the time. This is just a personal opinion.
I don’t want poisonous toxins, hair algae, or aiptasia in my tank. I don’t understand the concept of seeing an unkempt tank and purchase corals or other livestock from them and put those critters into my system and risk having whatever is wrong in that tank to spread to mine.
Unless you use a QT for corals…I can’t imagine thinking you are rescuing anything, rather aren’t you risking all your healthy coral?
