Coral Problem??

I have a 90 gallon tank with a bunch of white dead coral as seen in the picture. The bottom of it was submerged in the sand so it stayed the bright white as it was first put in the tank. The top part as you can see has turned brown and green and wont come off with scrubbing. Any suggestions on how to get it all bright white again? I'm afraid of bleaching because I don't want any to leach back in the tank when I put it back in. The dead coral is very porous by the way. Thanks for your help!

Simply not going to happen...
It will continue to house life which will cover the rock, adding color. (it is now a chunk of calcium rock...the coral is dead)
Bleaching it would be a neverending process, imo.

Yup bleach it now, bleach it again and again because it will alwasy get growth on it.

How long have you been in this hobby?
Seems to me like you need to do a lot more research. Start with learning what live rock is.

1 cup bleach per gallon of water. Let the coral skeleton sit in it for about an hour or a little longer if it hasn't turned white in that time.
Then dump out the bleach water.
Then put in enough new tap water to cover the skeleton and grab it and swish it around real well for a minute or so.
Dump out that water and fill it again with some new water and one of the off the shelf Chlorine and Chloramine removers. Use about twice what the label calls for. seish it around again and let it sit for another hour or so. Go back and if you still smell bleach, empty and repeat the last step.
