hello, new to this site and new to artifical salt aquariums. Bought some yellow polyps at christmas moved them up in my tank for more light today there were several poloyps left on the surrunding rock. Do they move? or are they reproducing? how do they reproduce?

they move by reproducing they can be a pest if you let them they will keep spreading.

No they did not move...they reproduce essentially by extending their mat. So now you have polyps in two places.

thank you for the info also i have t5hos but iwant mh 175w but i am on a tight budget (mean wife) what is the least expensive way i can get hooked up?

Look for used ones... T5's are perfectly fine though

OK dumb question....how do you keep them from spreading?

you don't, just place some small rocks around them then when they do spread pick up the rocks with polyps and go to your lfs for credit on the clam.
