Coral Slime

I was wandering if the slime corals put out when threatened will raise nitrate levels.
I know in small amounts it shouldn't, but what about large amounts? Thanks

Very doubtful, but there is a small potential, because mucus is composed of many nutrients. Many reef corals will utilize the mucus of other corals as nutrient input. On the other hand some corals(usually soft) have toxic mucus.
