Coral Type?

I wil try tonight This time I am going to use my digital SLR not the point and shot camera

Im not sure. Since i dont know the ID i wouldnt be able to tell you. I have something similar to that that hitchhiked with my rock and I have 130w PC light and its doing good.


This is when they first came in. Now they are fully brown.

Those are Favia. I have the same thing on some of my live rock. It has little hair like tentacles. I think that Favia is closely related to brain coral. Looks good!

Both of those corals look dead to me. Is there actual polyp extension?
The first looks like porites maybe?
I agree the second looks like a favia or acan.

I have not noticed any polyp extension, maybe it is dead. I am new to this so not sure what to do.
