When you buy dry coral at the store and put it in your tank can it come back to life. i am very new at this and don't know in fact i've only had my tank for two weeks. any help would be great

Just for clarification... The dry coral found on store shelves are coral skeletons.
As for turning it into "Live Rock" (aka: LR), that takes some time for the organisms to grow on it.
Aesthetics is all a matter of personal preference. If you like the way it looks in your tank, by all means put some in. Theres nothing saying that you cant take it out if you get tired of it later.
...well, unless its been glued to the bottom of the tank. heh.
