question. i have my eye on a piece of coral its a green daisy polyp coral but on the corner it looks like blue xenia might be growing on it or maybe blue star polyp, my question is when its bigger will they sting each other?

As rule yes, corals should not touch. Now for the good news, Xenia will climb up and off the rock so all you have to do is offer a rock close and above it to move it away. I am not sure about blue star polyps but it shouldn't be hard to relocate it once it gets bigger.
Anyone ever used plastic to keep corals from touching but being very close to one another. I've seen people have their corals right snug up against one another even though I've read they shouldn't touch. What about using a very pliable thin bit of plastic lining that would be clear and probably not even noticeable to keep them from actually touching?
