this is one of the only product made by ESU/ coralife that I do not like. When the sun is “on” the midday or the blue plugs turn off and you can not override the system. Setting the scheduling is a pain in the who ha and not really the hassle. IMO this is timer system made my esu that stinks on ice.

I've read several posts about this things going up in flames!!!!! Something I wouldn't highly recommend after reading about them....Some caused some serious damage to peoples homes

I do belive the posts in question on catchin fire was the older model with mechanical timer.
I have a bunch of those timers in use and have yet to have a problem...While the digital may be a bit more involved to set, its not hard once you get used to it. If its like most things, once it set you tend to loose directions and forget how (typical for digital watches / funcitons etc) I find them reliable. I even find the old mechanical types just fine as well. I have them in use for all kind sof things such as auto watering my poultry cages, controlling brooder lights and layer house lights...as well as on my fresh and salt water tanks

I use 2 of the digital ones on my 90. They wrork great. They also have battery backup so if the power goes out no need to worry about them loosing time. Yes stay away from the mechanical ones didn't work worth a crap for me and they where the ones with the reported fire hazard.

How is that differnt from any other timer execpt that it has one off and one on as to just one outet on or off? I didn't think it was hard to set the timers
Use 2 of them that whats I do to get the dawn-dusk daylingt and moonlight. You'll need the extra 4 constant on outlets anyway for other things.

I use a timer box, it has 6 timer outlets in one box and each one operates independently and doesn’t correspond/interfere with any of the other outlets. Were as on the esu outlet it all fell in line. When on came on the other clicked off no mater how I set the timer. Maybe I had a defect I don’t know, but when I called esu they said “no that how it works”. I did not like that. So I made my own timer outlet box.

I didn't like this timer when i bought it and returned it one day after use....you can't overlap settings with the lights and controlling the fan timer is impossible because it has to stay on always and there is not enough room for the box plugs that your lights plug into.....i have in my setup up a heavy duty strip plug...rated high enough to support the wattage with individual timers on everything that needs to be timed
or i like what shark bait is describing ...that's probably what i need
