Yep welcome to the hidden truth about the warranties on pumps, lights, heaters, etc. They don't tell you that you will be out of luck while it's in for repairs. The only solution is to have spares of all critical equipment. I keep a spare halide pendant laying around for this very reason. I had a Viper pendant on my nano go out due to premature bulb failure. They gladly replaced it, but when I asked them to overnight it, they said no, ground (from CA) was the only method they were willing to send it by, and when I asked them what I was supposed to do for my tank while they were sending it slow-boat, the answer I got was: "Well this is our policy." Luckily I had a spare.
You're gonna need to get another light from someplace. Don't expect the manufacturer to budge. Perhaps an LFS can let you borrow or rent one for the time your system is out.
