coralife ro unit and top off help

i have just set up my coralife ro unit and it is connected to the auto top off valve which runs into a matching float valve and into the container. My problem is that when the float switch goes up into the off position the ro unit still makes noise. Also when the machine is running it makes a noise like there is air leaking. question why doesnt this machine shut off. and is it normal for it to make noise help me out

Do you have the float valve connected to the output hose from the RO unit or to the water supply between the supply pipe and the unit?
If you have the float valve on the output hose, when the float valve shuts off, all the water going through the unit will just be pushed out through the rejection water hose. You need to put your float valve ahead of the unit so it cuts off the entire water supply, not just the water coming from the unit. That's probably why you still hear noise, it's because it's still running.
