Coralife Super Skimmer Question

Hey guys, i just purchased a coralife super skimmer 65 for my 60 gallon tank. I have it in my sump right now and just got everything plugged in and working. ( i know a bigger skimmer is better) i didn't want to break the bank for a good one atm. my question is should i see bubbles right off the bat with this thing? I have the pump valve only open 50 % and the water level is just a hair above the red collection cup ring. The instructions said that i should leave it like this for a day or 2 to break everything in. Am i going about this the right way? this is my first skimmer exp. and I'm excited to see some bubbles.

They can take days or even longer to break in and start producing foam. Just give it some time.
