Coraline (sp?) die off?

I have had my 110 up and running almost a year now. FOWLR is the set up. I have about 200lbs of live rock. My no#'s read good except for my nitrates.
Cant trace down whats doing it. Replaced all filters. Nothing has died or went missing. 1000 gph turnover rate.
Here is my problem I have just purchased another 160lbs of live rock from an established tank. Beautiful colors of coraline. Pinks, Purples, unique greens. I have put them in a Q tank for 2 weeks. No problem, but I put one small peice of the new rock in my tank w/ a beautiful pink coraline on it. The pink lasted less than than 24hrs. The purple is staying the same. Tried another piece. Same thing.
What else do I need to check for? No tap water. 400wts of PC.
Thanks for all you replys.

Can you post your water parameters? Also, have you been checking your calcium levels? You wouldn't happen to have an urchin or two would ya?

Is there good lighting in the QT?? Coralline is delicate to lighting change... and also elevated phosphates levels but die off is common when lighting is changed.

Pulling water readings tonight. Lighting changes are better. The rock was in a 40 gallon trash can. It is now under 192 watts PC and 175 watts halide lighting in my QT.
The small peice I had put in my main tank is under 384 watts of PC.
Who make's the best kit to test the phosphates?
Thanks

What kind of sea salt do you use? I know I may be contradicted on this, but in my 37gal when I switched from Instant Ocean to Oceanic, I noticed a great pop in my coraline...I'm sticking with Oceanic, but I'm also keeping a close eye on my calcium level...at this point with Oceanic it's at 420...with Instant Ocean I couldn't get it above 360. Go figure.
