If it is hard and not fuzzy, or hairy, than yes, it is corraline. What is the calcium level in the tank. Higher calcium will bring out the more desirable colors. Also the alk level should be anywhere from 7-9dkh.

If one of us were standing in front of the tank we could tell in a minute but from pics it is often hard to tell.
Looks like an algea bloom to me, but it doesnt seem to be heavier towards the top like typical blooms.
I am assuming the pic is of a small area zoomed in. Normally coraline doesnt chip and peal off as easily as your looks like it is doing. Like I said, it is hard to tell with confidence for a definative ID from that pic.
My vote is a bloom and NOT coraline but...........What does it FEEL like? the texture and bonding ability are easy to feel by putting a hand in a tank.

Well The picture looks very clear for me. I have the same thing in my tank and its definitely some form of corraline. I too have some hair algea and the do not look the same.
So does anyone else have an idea as to why green instead of purple?

yes the area is the part of my overflow that has the slits to get water in, i took it zoomed in because i wanted people to see the green stuff and some purple coraline.
It feels crusty just like coraline, i guess it is.
