corallife 65 gallon skimmer gone wild

I turned off my skimmer to add red slime remover (made by boyd enterprises, I highly recomend)
when I turned my skimmer back on after I medicated the tank, my skimmer fills up the cup with water and the bubbles start spewing out the top even on the lowest setting
any experiance in this situation and help would be great
Thanks,

The skimmer going nuts seems to be a pretty common issue with the product from what I've read....I'd honestly try doing a water change, but dial the skimmer all but off/down.

IME, This is a common problem with these skimmers. They are very sensitive to anything you add to your system, and will overflow the cup easily. You need to run carbon and do a couple more water changes before it will start acting normal. Been there, done that.

I think most skimmers would react a bit crazy with that addition, but yes some are more touchy than others. Best advice is a couple bigger water changes and dial the skimmer way back.

I have the Big bro to that baby the 220 on my 150 and anything I add makes it go loco so it is not unusual. My fish when it acts up go OH WELL so we get to play in the bubbles. Heck my Yellow tang will swim into the freaking things. However compared to the prior Skimmers I have had it is still the best of all of them and I will still use it til I upgrade my entire tank.
