I just re-aquascaped my tank and have some softies up close to the surface, I quickley realized during water changes it will be higher than the water level. Is this a problem, I do wc's twice a week sometimes...????????????????

They get exposed in nature at low tide. If they naturally occur near the surface in nature (some do some dont for that very reason) then exposure during changes probably wont be a problem. They do need to stay wet, they dont live high enough to not get wave splash even at lowest tide levels.

i would just turn the lights off during the cange because if you have strong MH the corals can can burned without the protection of the water

ive only got 36 watts of NO T-5 so im not worried about burning!! Im worried I dont have enough! but they seem to do fine with frequent WC, the corals in question are star polyps so no problem? thats good!
