cupermine at a level between 0.15 and .5
i had no room for this leather toadstool and I had to put it somewhere my 125 is stocked with 90 corals to the top.. and there is no spot for it either because the aggresive corals need space or there is just no room...so i stuck it in my 65 fowlr that i dosed with cupermine to help prevent parasites for the 5 fish in it..there are no inverts in it except i uess this toadstool if it was exposed for only 45 min and i take it out and put it in a bucket with water from my 125 reef will it survive ? can i leave it in the 65 while copper is the water..please advise soon so i know what to do...if i can save it i c an take it to the LFS tom and trade for food or something. its a nice piece.
I would definetely not leave it in there - .15 - .5 pm of copper is certainly toxic to inverts. However, I've seen corals and inverts exposed to about .25 ppm of copper for a short time and not show any adverse effects.
I'm not citing any resources other than 1 personal experience, but it seems to me that if you remove the toadstool now to a copper-free tank, it should be fine. Is the coral showing any signs of distress or demise??
