After taking a look at my button polyps(?)(bought as an unattached frag on sat, also my first corals), i noticed that some were a whitish color while others on the same cluster were the brown they were in the store. Is there an explanation for this, are they in shock, what should i do for those few polyps?

and are rubberbands the easiest way to get them attached to the rocks, yes/no?

I dont have experience with them, but I would guess they may be deing (the white ones). Wait to see what others say though.
I believe the best way to attach would be super glue gel or just netting. Or a combo of the two. Rubberbands may cut into them. HTH
