I am thinking of upgrading the membrane. I currently have a 50gpd, can i swap it with a 75 or 100gpd or is it more complicated then that?

if you go with a higher gpd membrane, your water quality will suffer. I have a 180 tank and my pure floII 50 gpd keeps up with all the water I need no problem. I even supply water for 2 of my friends tanks. And it is "0" tds

Yes you can upgrade the unit to a bigger production unit, and it can be done without sacrificing water quality......The biggest you can go with sacrificing water quality would be a 75gpd DowFilmTec membrane which has a 98-99% rejection rate.....Once you step up to a 100gpd membrane your rejection rate will drop to somewhere around 92-93%.....
To make the upgrade you will need to get a 75gpd membrane and a flow restrictor for 75gpd membranes......Super easy upgrade.......SignGuy will tell you as well.
