Correct Lighting

I asked in the other thread but I think it is no longer being viewed.
I wanted to know what I should put on my 36 glln bow front to help with the growth of my tank.
I was told that some lighting would be too strong for my tank and would make it to hot.

I have anenomes now.
I haven't really looked into any of the corals due to wanting the correct lighting first.
I know that I can't handle anything that will (money wise) that will cost big bucks!
I have sunk over a $1000 into this already and my husband's patience is wearing thin!

$300 would be the MAX. But that wouldn't be until after taxes. I would need something to hopefully hold me over until then.
What makes me mad was if IW ould have known about the lighting I would have purchased it the day I got the tank but they were telling me it would make my tank to hot.

Most anemones require HIGH lighting!! What kind do you have?? I'd consider returning them to the LFS.
The inhabitance will dictate the lighting required. For 300$ you could get a nice Power Compact, VHO or T5 fixture which would allow you to keep a wide verity of corals and such.
How long is the tank?? If it's 36" then a power compact with 2-96w bulbs (less than 200$) or a VHO with 2-95w bulbs or T5's with 4-39 watt bulbs (less than 200$) would all work. With these you would be able to keep about everything except anemones, clams or sps corals,

If you go into Photography section find my thread (keleighr) My Tanks.
There is a picture of what my Anenomes look like. Don't freak, the picture makes it look like it is bleached. It isn't. It is the camera. It is a light purplish pink color.

I have a 36 glln Bow Front
I am at work so I do not have the measurements.
I know, shame on me!!
I will be off of work at 5pm.
Oh let me see if the husband will measure

It's 30" wide.
Coralife makes a 150w MH Aqualight Advanced that clips onto the back of the tank. With that you could keep Anemones, clams, and corals - including SPS. It should cost right up to $300.

My husband measured and he has 30 1/2
You go!!
Is it the lighting that you can just rest on top or is it the lighting that you actually have pegs that hold it up.

150w MH Aqualight Advanced
That would be sweet...
With it being a 30" everything I posted above still applies, if you can find them in a 30" fixture. I agree with Viper though... if you want to keep anemones go with the MHs.

Ok I just looked at one.
It won't work. I have a diamond goby and a bar goby. I have to keep the tank sealed up. They jump out of tanks.
This would sit over the top but my hood would block most of the lighting.

Price is right too. $259.00
Crud I didn't want to have to get rid of the Anenomes especially since my maroon has made one it's home.
So what is Marine Snow supposed to do for your tank??
I purchased some on here and it said something about zooyplanton (sp i know it is spelled wrong!!!
)

A lot of people make covers from egg crate to avoid carpet surfing but it still allows the tank to breath and the lighting to get in fine.
Wait this one says it is only 10.5 inches in length??
It is by Coralife

Is it just a single MH??

Are you refering to the lighting I suggested? If so, the length of the fixture doesn't really matter in this case. The light has a clip that you stick on the back of the tank and bend the light over the center.
