Got a question about water changes. First off I use RO water for my water changes of 30 gallons out of a 125g aquarium. Do I need to like 2 days before I do a water change fill up my old tank that is 30g add my salt and a powerhead and my old heater and allow it to run for a few days before adding it to my 125g? I heard that its not good to just dump it in right away cause the salt has to dissolve. As soon as my tank is done cycling this will be my first water change

Yep, thats about it... Once you have livestock also test the pH and S.G. and get the new water as close to the S.G. and pH as well as temp. to the display tank readings befor you add it in....

If you can, use a power head to pump your water out of your 125, then to pump the new water into your 125. I attach a hose to the power head and before you know it, water change done! Much easier then bucketing in, and doesn't stir up the sand at all.
