hello everyone,
so after 2 years in my 90 gallon, my sixline wrasse disappeared and the body cant not be found anywhere. i saw the fish yesterday. lights have been on hours now and still nothing. my only suspects could be a fire shrimp which i doubt or my huge sandsifter.
i also lost a old bangaii cardinal. he stopped eating and got really weak, the body was never found aftet that.
i am lost as to where they go. i checked my powerhead, nothing there. i checked for carpet surfers, nothing.
any help?

My wrasse went into the sand and was never seen again....the CUC must have cleaned up any body that may have existed...all I know is...I never heard of a sand sifter eating a wrasse.

Sure it could have, but the wrasse would have been dead by then if so. They are jumpers, have you checked everywhere it could have jumped to?

yes, i have checked everywhere,
mixed up the sand, checked all around the tank. i havent checked the overflow but i watched it for a few minutes and didnt see any activity.
there is alot of algae in the overflow.
i have bristle worms i bet, i never see them though since its a big tank??
lfs guy thought the could last almost a week under the sand.
i hate saying this, but i have lost a fair share of fish that are samll. chromis, damsel. i have never found the bodies. it seems there is somehting in the tank that is grabbing them. i havent heard any clicks like a mantis would make.
im just at a loss here where to start

it is only the small fish, tangs have been in the tank for 2 years unharmed, clownfish as well because they try and host my corals.
