My salinity is between 1.020 and 1.021, should I still be able to add the shrimp?
I plane on bumping up the salinity to around 1.023-1.024 by adding a cup of sea salt once a week. I plan on doing this slowly so I do not harm my fish and inverts. Is this plan ok?
So after all that could I still add the shrimp today or should I wait till I get the salinity up?
Also the Blood and the Cleaner Skunk are both cleaners right?

don't add the salt directly to the tank...I'm not sure if i'm stating the obvious or not...sorry if i am...the salt will give the fish chemical burns...if not kill them.

Can I add salt to some top off water? The Freshwater will dilute the salt right? I should wait a hour or so to let the sea salt dilute in the fresh top off water before I add it right? How much salt should I use per gallon?
I have yet to do a water change. My water quality is good right now(no ammonia, no nititres or trates). Plus I want to wait until my tank gets more established before I change water(I wanna wait until my tank is 3 to 4 months old). So that was why I was asking if I could just add the salt to water I use to top the tank off with.
Thanks

one thing, in anew tank, water changes won't hurt at all, i do about 5% weekly, all this does is help to remove any impurities and organics in the water, it won't hurt you biofilter, it will helppyou to keep things in line
and if your q to me was about adding the salt directly ot the tank, i agree, what you want to do is add saltwater(to the tank), not dump in dry salt, i think this is what he meant
you never answeered my q' which shrimp, are you looking at bllod or cleaner? they are different shrimp(no difference in care, just appearance and what they will do for your tank), plus the cleaners are about 1/3 less $ in some areas than the blood(or fire)shrimp
HTH, let me know if that is what you were asking

I think I am going for a cleaner skunk, because I want a good worker not just design. I might add a blood later.
I was asking if it was ok to mix some sea salt in with some top off fresh water?
The sea salt will dilute in the top off water right?
Would that be a good way to raise my salinity?
Also how much sea salt should I add per gallon of top off water?

not sure about teh amounts, but make up some top off water, and test your tank, if the tank is1.021, then make your top off 1.022 or 3, that little bit extra is all you need for a bump, jsut alittle by little, and when your tank gets 1.0222, then make your top off 1.023 or 4
and yes the salt will dilute in the top off water, but i would let it set and ad an airstone or small powerhead, for a day or 2

oh yeah, the skunk cleaner is a good choice, but if i were you, my plans would be for 2 skunks, they do much better in pairs(believe me i saw it 1st hand), even if you get 1 now, then another in a couple of weeks
