My whole top of my feather duster has been dislocated from his tube. Does this mean he's dead? I,ve read that they will loose there crown (feathers). Is this what happened?

Lightly feel the tube for movement. It should still be alive and soon will get new feathers.

Yes they can lose the crown( feathers)and grow them back, but if you can see the whole worm, like hanging out of the tube, its most likely gonna die.

Its been a few weeks since my feather duster blew his lid. But nows he's back. Thanks for the post, I may have thrown him out, if it wasn't for this message board.
