You're probably all going to roll your eyes at this question but..
<a href="http://www.petsmart.com/fish/shopping/saltwater%5Faccessories/filtration%5Faccessories/products/product%5F14185.shtml" target="_blank">http://www.petsmart.com/fish/shopping/saltwater%5Faccessories/filtration%5Faccessories/products/product%5F14185.shtml</a>
It says this product could be used inside the tank, or in a sump, but what about outside the tank?
One more thing, its 30 bucks.. could it provide good quality for a 29 gallon aquarium?
Thanks for any response, it's really appreciated.

If you want to hang one of those on the back, you will have to build a container or gut out another filter box that you can put it in. And, of course, you will have to figure out how to get water in and out of the box it is in.
Air stone skimmers are very old-school. I have used many over the years. They can work pretty well provided you have a strong air pump and a good air stone. Air stones are typically made of lime wood and require periodic cleaning.

It can't be used outside the tank or the sump because it has no other way of drawing in the water. It has holes near the top that the water flows through. It doesn't look like a very efficent skimmer. But it might do the job. If you find some way of drawing in the water to it it may be able to be used outside, but I think that would be a waste.

How big do you guys think it is? Could it descretely be put behind the LR?
Can any skimmers? I probably won't consider this one..
Doesn't Prizn make hang on filters?

The ones I had were about 12" long and were in the tank too. I imagine you could hide most of it behind rock.
Prizm skimmers work, but I have heard they are loud.
Again, air stone skimmers are really dated, but if you don't have much money you can make it work. If you have a little money to spend it definately would be better spent on a more modern venturi skimmer.
I hear the AquaC Remora is good. Perhaps you can find a used one.

I have a Prizm skimmer, they are made by Red Sea. I like mine. It isn't too loud. It's obviously noisy where it's taking the air in, but it's not anything to get worried about. I got mine for $69 brand new and it gets so much crap out of my water.
