I got this guy a couple of weks ago and the yellow tang tore him up but now thats he is all healed up and happy here is a pic of him. I really love the colors of him.
and here is my colt that a couple of months ago I had to cut of everything down to stumps I think its made a really good recovery.
Let me know what ya think
Mike
I had a gorgian the died and the goop it shothed off fell on the colt and it started to melt away so to try to save it I cut everything down to stumps. and I think it has come back very well.
thanks all
Mike
Hey you guy's i really hate to sound stupid, but what do you mean by melt away on the coral, how can it just melt away and why?
thanks for all of your help
Melissa V.
well when a colt or other leather gets an infection or something drastic happens ( like in my case it really could have been either) the tissue literally melts into a gooey substance of what it usta be. turns into a jelly like substance that is usually detached from the coral but quickly proceeds throughout the coral most of the time thats why I had to cut everything away to try to stop it from taking the intire coral. which worked in my case but doesnt always work.
I will see if I can find a pic of what happens a little easyies to see it then explain.
Mike
What type of coral is that in your first pic on the right side of the screen? loooks like a bunch of little flowers. I have the same stuff that was called sea mat rock but what is the scientrific name?
and then there are these zooanthid polyps come in so many different color morphs in unreal.this is just a clos up shot of the ones in the first pic.
