If I had a cup of live sand to put in my sand which is already in my 125 g SWT, will the cup produce/add more live sand out of the sand already there?Also...I have 3 feather dusters and I have heard they like light and they don't, which is true, or does it matter, do FD's move around on there own or do crabs and suck help them get from place to place...along with the last quetion if it doesn't move itself around would it be ok to anchor it down somewhere or let things/itself move it??

If you add some live sand to your current sand it will seed it and you will eventually have live sand throughout the tank. I would start off adding a pound or two every week untill you reach your desired sand bed size. Feather duster do not need light to thrive, however, they do need filter foods. ie: live phytoplankton. You can do whatever you want with the feather dusters as well.......... well, not anything. But, you can put them in the rockwork or bury them in the sand or whatever. They will usually attach themselves to a rock to get a stationary spot.

so should I just leave my feather dusters alone and they will find there own comfortable spot?...also I have this one Sally Lightfoot and I caught it eating one of my scarlet reef hermits, are they known to do that or is this one just aggressive and maybe need to be taken out?...do the blue leg and scarlet reef hermits get along or do they fight each other, do they fight with there own kind or are they just reproducing constantly? I have found a few hermits dead out of there shells...why would this happen. Did something pull it out or do u think it was trying to find a bigger shell? Do snails outgrow their shells, and will a hermit/snail kill a hermit/snail for their shell? And back to the first post...do feather dusters move around on their own???

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa!! Slow down little buddy.
1. Feather dusters probably will not move much all by thierselves, put it where you want to...........the feather duster I mean.
2. Your Sally Lightfoot may have been eating an already deceased hermit crab but, they can also be aggresive.
3. Blue legs are pretty mean little buggers. They will try to steal the shell of anything in the tank. Scarlets are not so bad.
4. Snail shells grow with the snail.
5. Again, Hermits will steal a snail shell just as quickly as a hermit shell. You may want to have extra shells of various sizes in the tank.
Whew!!

It may be.......I am confused. Let me check because I thought my blue legs were a lot meaner that the scarlets.

Sorry, I didn't want to forget and I didn't want to have to reply 50 different times:eek:
I got a package deal four days ago and had a couple funerals, I was wondering if I had to get the same thing or if it could be credited toward something else??
What would be the best way/thing to feed snails, hermits, crabs, and shrimp...it's kinda funny that my peppermint shrimp eats shrimp pellets
The snail's shell grows with them, like a bone or something?

It's nice to know my starfish will get new legs...lol
Which do u prefer, LS or LR? I want the foreign creatures to come with and theat is LS right? I remember living in FL and burying my feet to feel the creatures underground...interesting. The feeling of a snail slither over your hand is orgasmic...lol
