cover the top?

hi,do you guys use glass to cover the top of the tank? if not, what do you do for the water lossing everyday? i use glass covers the top, but the water level still gets down everyday. I just add water every night. If don't cover the top with glass, the water lossing will be big. Then I need to add a lot of water. is that bad for the water condration? what about the PH?(since the adding water is pure water)

You only need to add fresh ro water when you are losing water due to evaporation. Its normal. I have to add a half gallon to my 55 (glass covered) every day. And about 1 to 2 gallons every day to my 175 gallon (covered in egg crate).

I agree, take the top off. It will help alot with gas exchange.
I add about 1 gallon of water every 2-3 days in my 55 gal.
