We haven't had a bleaching incident here, but one of my LFS had 3000 dollars worth of corals taken from a display tank. The LFS that I use had to put locks on their display, and a Reef keeper when someone turned the heater WAY up trying to fry their display...... I can't stand stupidity, they are dealing with LIFE when they do things like this!

Always makes me wonder if some stupid employee or hired gun from a competition store does these kinds of things.
I could see in BTL's case, but is Helena, Montana really that competitive of market?
I'm not blaming the author of that particular article, but do we really need to know what he used? Just seems to me like something that would spring a couple copycat crimes. Just like the evening news, "The man had several graphic photos, which we'll show them now..."
Yeah I agree with the media, but anyone who knows aquariuams knows what not to use in them...... so it really wasn't a big deal it was stated. And if it were a competetor thing or a bad advice cost me money revenge thing... they knew about it.
It is assumed that it was a case of a new competitor when it happened near me. It was fairly obvious 5 stores in a 8 mile radius, and 4 were hit. Oddly enough, the 4th store was the newest and directly center to the other 4. They used paint thinner in Poland Spring bottles. Now, you can not bring any drink bottles into the stores.
