Just received a new cofish for Christmas and I adore him, but cannot get a clear pic to share with everyone,,,,,He is the most adorable fish that I have. Full of personality and curiosity, and am wondering if anyone else has one, or even pics to share??
Oh and Merry Christmas!!

there was a member here a while back that used to have one, but I have not seen them in quite some time . . . . Alti i believe.
Interesting fish, but I have to admit, I know very little about them.

I got a long horned cowfish a little over a week ago. He was doing fine until yesterday when he started swimming weird. He died last night. :(
Even though I didn't have him long he was a very cool fish.

I had one for about a month. It was a great fish with lots of personality. The cowfish would eat anything, but was a weak swimmer, so feed time was high maintenance as I fed all of the fish at one end of the tank, and while they were distracted, I target fed the cowfish at the other end. It was also interesting to watch it eat worms out of the sandbed. Cowfish blow a jet of water from their mouths to clear the sand and expose worms to eat.
Unfortunately, my cowfish would constantly get stuck to the intake of my powerheads, even with guards and prefilters attached. I was constantly turning the powerheads off to release the cowfish, but it got stuck one too many times, and swam awkwardly after the last time. I moved it into a hospital tank where it lived for a few days and then died.
Just give your cowfish a little extra TLC, and enjoy its personality.

I personally feel that it should be in it's own aquarium, for a few reasons. As stated above, they are weak swimmers and cannot defend themselves against bullies. They some special thought as to what to do about PH intakes. They need to be fed specially. If they get stressed, they CAN release a toxin that can kill other fish.

They can get big. The first time I saw one in the LFS, my buddy couldnt stop laughing and told me to buy the fish that looked like a booger (they really do when they are fry).

I got my cowfish a week ago. It looks so cool and is eating all the times. It likes to eat seaweed a lot. It is in my QT now. :)
It seems to swim a slow and is not a good food competitor.
