I HAVE A COWFISH THAT HAS GROWN TO 5 INCHES LONG.IT IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY TANK.EVENTHOUGH THE OTHER FISH ARE FAR MORE COLORFUL AND MORE GRACEFUL EVERYONE LOVES THE COWFISH.NOW THIS FISH IS TWO YEARS OLD AND FROM WHAT EVERYONE HAS TOLD ME IT IS QUITE UNUSAL FOR A COWFISH TO LIVE THIS LONG AND GET THIS BIG.MY QUESTION IS THAT LATELY HE SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE SLUGGISH AND HIS APPETITE IS OFF.ALSO HIS COLOR SEEMS PALE.HAS ANYONE HAD A COWFISH FOR VERY LONG AND HAD THIS PROBLEM.HE MAY BE SICK OR DYING OF OLD AGE IM NOT SURE.ALL MY OTHER FISH SEEM FINE SO I AM CONFUSED,I REALLY WOULD HATE TO LOOSE THIS FISH.I OPEN FOR ANY IDEAS OR IMPUT,TKS.DON.

I've never kept a cowfish for that long but I do know that they are very sensitive to salinity changes.
 
Whens the last time you did a water chang?
I ask because cowfish are always releasing there toxins in to water ts just that all your fish become ammune to it but eventually there could be such a build up of toxins that effect them.
How are the other fish are they showinh these same syptoms of your cowfish?
You should do a water change and see if theres any changes in his behavior.
