CPR BAK PAK 2 not working?

i have a cpr bak pak 2 skimmer running on a 200 gallon ( yes, i know that it is too small awaiting replacement) it is a fish only with LR but has a very lite bioload. the skimmer pulled out about 4mm of waste in the collection cup but generally the column does not fill very densely with bubbles also it is not creating much foam.
i have seen tanks in thailand which produce masive amounts of foam and collect alot of waste.
would anyone have any experience with these units? thanks in advance

Suggestion on the Bak-Pak 2.
Replace the black rubber tubing with some clear vinyl airline tubing. I had similar problems with mine until I changed these tubes. Pay close attention to the 2 small tubes that connect to the venturi of the Rio600. The black hoses that come with unit have a tendency to come loose.
