i was wanting to bid on a cpr bak pak skimmer, but it says that it is run by a rio 600 and in another post everyone says that rios are loud and break down, does the cpr need to be run with one of these
If I'm not mistaken thats the standard issue on a cpr bacpac....but options are available....cpr has a good web site with available info on their products.....I've used a cpr bacpac 2r with the rio600 for more than a year now(its currently on my 55 fowlr/dsb)...no major problems.....in my opinion a better than average skimmer for 55 gal or less.......but who am I to say...its the only skimmer I've ever used except for an experiment with a old dilapidated sea clone that failed.....*_^
The CPR website www.cprusa.com can help you with retrofitting the bakpak with a maxijet. I have had one for about 8 months and except for having to tear the powerhead apart for cleaning monthly it is a good skimmer. If your tank is a 75 you would probably be better off with a sump and get a better skimmer as this unit does put one more unsightly powerhead into your tank.
not really familar with how a sump works, yes i have a 75 and i know the cpr is only supposed to go to 60 but im just not familar with a sump, how it works and what i need
