cpr bak pak

Im thinking about buying a cpr bakpak. Are they any good? Is anyone on this site using the bakpak? I would like to know more info about this. Please help me out. thanks

They aren't bad. What size tank? The AquaC Remora is similarly priced but better IMO.

I use it and it's the best at that price IMO. Some people have had some problems with the stock rio600 PH it comes with, but after a year and a half mine still runs fine.

I have the BakPak and it works very well. but mine came with a maxijet1200 ph.

I got mine following the advice of lfs salesperson who's gone thru many PSkimmers. I have no problem with it so far

In that case you might also want to look into the Aqua C Remora like wax32 mentioned, since you have a bigger tank.
I'm running the CPR BakPak on a 36g.

How much did yall pay for them(if you dont mind me asking?) The guy at the lfs store told me $187 with tax.

That's about right for an Aqua C Remora. CPR bakpaks go for around $125-135, I paid 130.

You can buy Aqua C Remora from online sites for lesser price then that! The one I got is with maxi jet 1200 and it's only $164 I bought a maxi jet 900 with it to get free shipping. Total has to be $175 for free shipping... :happyfish

I have the bak pak 2 skimmer and purchased it for $105 on sale from a certain website. I think I will get in trouble if I say the name. I have had a sea clone and red sea skimmer and this one so far is the best. I have not had any problems for the 6 months I havee had it. However, I have also heard somepeople on this site say that their are better skimmers out there for the money.

got a cpr back pack (free) so i cant complain but im not thrilled with it. could not get the thing to stop making bubbles in the tank. i have fixed it now with a skimmer/bubble trap combo that they sell to fix this problem but that cost me 30 more dollars so be prepared to pay extra with this skimmer in order to get it right. Works great if you dont have this bubble issue. and the newer ones might have some design change that fixes this already. Like i said mine was free cant complain.
