CPR bakpak?

I have been looking at many different filtration options for my 55 gal FOWLR. I curently am running a Penguin bio-wheel and 1/2 tank UGF. I have seen a lot of positive feedback from the CPR bakpak 2. I was wondering if this would provide enough filtration for my tank? I would like to take out the Nitrate factory (the UGF). Would the combo of the bakpak and biowheel provide enough filtration or should I just go for the wet dry filter route?

When I started out I had a penguin filter it was the biggest they had and a fluval 404 canister filter, I had zero nitrates when it was all said and done. Well, went to the ecosystem now my water is great but I have trates at .05 and phoshpates at .25 ugh!! Stick with what you have unless it is a problem. Always check your water parameters weekly and you will be ok. This hobby is very expensive and you can buy this then that but the bottom line is is if everything is cool don't change it no matter what the trend. IMO

Dindi, I am looking for another filtration type because I can not get my Nitrates down  . I aquired the tank from neighbor about 7 months ago. He had the great idea of placing the LR on top of the UGF so I can't vacume the CC over the UGF. I had no idea what I was doing when I first set it up, or I would have moved the location of the LR. I got a humpback shrimp a few weeks ago hoping that he would start to clean up what he could. I did not want to spend a lot of money on other inverts. and have them all die. He is still alive and going strong and my Nitrates have dropped a lot but they are still around 30ppm. They were off the charts at first.
