A built in overflow is the most efficient method of draining aquarium water to a filter. If your aquarium does not have built-in overflow, CPR Continuous Siphon Overflows/Prefilters are the best means for getting water from an aquarium to a filter system without expensive modifications to the tank. They quietly skim up to six times more water than units with tubes.
The advantages of CPR Continuous Siphon Overflows/Prefilters include:
*Adjustable water level allows you to easily change the level in your tank.
*Black top reduces algae growth.
*Plastic screen to prevent fish loss.
*Quiet operation.

This filter is in perfect condition. (Reasonable) offers? I would also be willing to trade for a used calcium reactor setup for a 90 gallon reef that is in similar condition (perfect
)

DMCRETE - Greetings...
Unfortunately, the overflow hose and return pump I used are in a box stored somewhere safe (so safe, I can't find them  ), or I would include them. The return line I used was simply inexpensive vinly tubing from a home improvement store and would need replaced, anyway. The powerhead for the skimmer is included, though (I think it's a maxi-jet...).
The filter and overflow are as described - there is no damage to any part, nor are there any large scratches. The prices shown are what I paid, not including shipping. If you were interested, I would go $250 PLUS actual shipping...
Thanks for asking

I know its been awhile indy but have you sold this. I am in the market(possibly ) fo this filter and I am shopping around. If ti did sell do you mind telling me the selling price? Also how would you rate this filter and skimmer, especially the skimmer? Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

TRIGGERPHISH - Greetings

I still have the filter and overflow. I didn't get much initial response and thought that I had "killed" the thread with the idea that I would try again later. Guess I didn't :notsure:
I used this filter on a 55 gallon tank that was FOWLR plus a few select corals. It was the first filter I owned that was not HOB and it was also my first skimmer, so I didn't have anything to compare it to at the time, but it worked perfectly. The skimmer would consistently pull some really nasty stuff from the water and I never had any problems with it or the overflow. To me, one of the telling signs of the quality is that it is several years old and CPR still manufactures and sells the same model.
As mentioned, it is in almost perfect condition. The only noticeable thing is some dried "gunk" in the water feed tube of the skimmer that will need to be cleaned with a flexible brush. I don't even think there are any scratches in the acrylic.
I recently saw this filter and overflow advertised at a sale price that made my price look a little steep for used equipment, so I would be willing to let it go for $240 PLUS actual shipping costs. Let me know if you are interested and take care...

If we were to buy this where would we go to get the return pump? I have never operated a skimmer before and am in the market for one. I have found skimmers NIB for less though and this included the pump.
Thanks

FLCANDY - Greetings

This unit is a filter/sump/skimmer all-in-one unit and the powerhead for the skimmer is included. For a return pump, you can use any "standard" aquarim pump/powerhead that has provisions for attaching a hose to direct the output back to the tank.
Hope this helps...

How much space is between the "U" of the overflow box?
I have an acrylic tank that has a 3/4" lip with a 2-1/4" opening .. would the overflow fit in my tank?

MARCELOSTANK - Greetings

The width of the lip on your tank would not be a problem. I measured the "U" groove and it would fit over a lip as wide as 1-3/8". I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "2-1/4" opening", though - if you could clarify, I would be happy to measure other parts of the overflow for you. Hope this helps...

fromt the back of the tank - I have a 3/4" lip then a 2-1/4" rectangular opening in which the intake of the overflow box needs to fit inside.
maybe this picture helps a little...

I see
It should work fine - the overflow is 10" wide, but it looks like the opening is substantially longer than needed to accommodate the overflow.
Let me know if you need anything else...

Hello Indy
, Thanks for the quick response. What return pump did you use with this filter? and i know there was another question i cant think of right now. I hate that! Just curious how this can fit my setup? And what else I will need to get it going?
Thanks

TRIGGERPHISH - Greetings...
To be honest, I don't remember for certain, but it was something similar to a Mag 9 - just not that brand name. The overflow will handle 800 GPH, so you can use a rather sizeable return pump.
SCOOBS - Greetings, as well...
I will go $225 PLUS actual shipping - bottom dollar. Let me know if you are interested at that price. If I can't get that for it, I'll just save it for use on another tank - you know another tank is inevitable at some point :hilarious
Thanks...

Indy....Would you take 225 shipped to San Diego? J
Just wanted to also make sure that there are no problems with this, and that it would be sufficient for a 60gal FOWLR (1x 5" trigger)
****Please respond via email to pfginsd@gmail.com****
Thanks!
