crab behavior

so I wanted to know if it was normal for my hermit to Burry his bottom in the sand, and his two back legs, but then he sticks really far out of his shell and puts his front legs up and out and extends his claws... he has been doing this for hours.... Is this normal?

Okay, it has been nearly a day and he is still buried in the same position and he is still flailing about... DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHY HE HAS BEEN DOING THIS?!??!

have you considered moving him, and seeing if he goes back into same position?
Almost sounds as if he may be stuck and is trying to upright himself.

Yes, I moved him yesterday morning, and when I came home, he was back there again... I dk what the deal was, because tonight he ate my other crab.... so he can move just fine... I am now mad at him. Thank for the help though....
