Crab ID that I brought home from the beach

well i was at the beach in destin, fl yesterday and caught this crab and with 3 water changes some seaweed in a bottle i brought it home with me. i am just wondering what kind he is.
he is white with brown speckles all over him. he looks just like a typical crab. he is about 1 1/2'' - 2''
i will post a pic later tonight, but wont be that good b/c its on my camera phone. thanx for any help!

well i think its an ordinary sand crab, search for sand crab under google and its there, does anyone know anything about them? like if they are reef safe? or what kind of sand bed would be best for them cause i am in the middle of redoing my sand bed, thanx!

i know, i didnt think that a crab could really harm anything, and the tank is empty except for the live rock and 2 blue leg hermits.

my mistake thought i read you had a reef tank.
but if rock is all you have maybe be alright..

Those sand crab in Will L's pic is cool. I dig a bunch of them up everytime I go to some beach. Once I found a bog ol'e mamma almost 3" full of hundreds of eggs.
I found pictures of 2 different crabs. Does it look like the pic I got, or the one Will L's got?

Just a little note, I just realized why my crabs dont look comfortable. The water temp in my tank is probably 10deg higher than there use to. They must be sweatin :nervous:
