Crab ID. This is a good one :)

Alright. Found this little sneek munching on my Xenia in the dark. He was quickly put in a ref tank for observation.
Anyone want to take a shot at it?
White bodey with light brown stripes stretching from front to back , with blue eyes. Has a Mathrax bodey structure. Take a look at this pick.

I dont want to see him die or anything eaven if it is bad. Maby he could live in someones FOWLR tank? I dont know. I was gonna donate him to a LFS but wanted to tell them what it was besides "A Crab".

He is still alive and I really dont know what to do with him. Noone knows what it is and I have done alot of reserch on this one. Anyone else have the slightest clue?:notsure:

looks like a little like an anemone crab but im not sure
good luck he doesnt look like hed hurt anything.

Well his bodey structure is similar to emerald crab. Thats about it. Unlike the obvious of color he also has pointed claws and blue eyes.

Not really. The large difference between the 2 are the sifting have paddles on the back and this one has some sharp claws. It really likes to use them to. :eek:
Im going to take a few more pics at a different angle to get a better view.

You may wanna post a pic in the reef forum. I see crab ID's over there by people that I've never seen post in this forum. Good luck though...
I hafta ask though... If you already saw him munching on your xenias, doesn't that already answer your question??

I have the same mystery crab in my tank. I am not sure what he hitched a ride on, but I never bought him. I think he came out of the LS. When I first saw him he was very small and almost clear. Just a guess....
